“Hello, Mr Samuel! Yes, yes! We’re here to show our students the cafeteria. Perhaps you could help us by introducing all the rules?” Miss Garcia requests.
“Of course, Miss.” Mr Samuel says with a strong british accent and beckons to us. “Come on, people. We’ve got lots to do now. And Miss Garcia, we will be back by dismissal time.”
We stride off after Mr Samuel. I enjoy seeing the expression on my teacher’s face. Ha. Serves that meanie right. I catch myself. What am I thinking? I can’t do that! Ugh. This school is making me think of everyone as meanies, I guess.
That reminds me. What happened to that girl…The one who introduced herself to me before the exam? The one…her name is Rachel, I think. Or is it Rachie? Or Rainy? Why didn’t she come to me during lunch? Where is she now? So much of her ‘friendly talk’.
I look around and realise that I am alone. Where did those people go?! “Over here!” I hear someone shout and I follow the sound.
“If you would be so kind to keep up with us, I should think we can get through this on time.” Mr Samuel informs me. I nod. “Okay, everyone. As I was saying, you will receive a list of all the rules at Savant Academy, in other words, a handbook. I expect you to do as it says. But first, I will show you everything that is in the list so that you have some idea. And I hope nobody gets lost this time.” He smiles and hands out a book with ‘Handbook’ written on it. I open it and gasp. What in the world? Why is it so long!

In the classroom…
My eyes hurt just by reading it. Some more, I have to spend the entire rest of the school day with that Mr Samuel. Why?! I wish this day will end soon.

Dear Diary,
Finally! My first day at school is driving me crazy! I hope Miss Garcia and Mr Samuel are not my permanent teachers. I hope that the other teachers at this place are not that bad too!
It's dismissal time now. I had received a handbook of student rules earlier while the other newbies and I were touring the cafeteria with Mr Samuel. I took one look and the book and my eyes nearly popped out of my head! Why does this place have so many rules?
Anyway, I'm waiting for the school bus to come and pick me up right now. At least I have my new neighbour to play with after school! Mother just texted me saying that I need to bring a gift to them since we're new. And that there's a girl there about my age!
(I am pretty scared right now! I just realised that my phone is literally on my lap! Why am I so scared? Well, you'd be scared too if you'd read my school rules! It says in big letters, 'no phones are allowed in school.' Great. My first day and I've already broken two rules: Not to be late and no phones!)
